Pierce Pepin crews continue to restore power

As of 1:30 p.m., Friday, about 950 Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) members remain without power.

About 2,400 members of PPCS lost power following the spring snowstorm that hit late Wednesday night, May 2, toppling trees, power lines and poles. Power outages were widespread across the entire system that includes Pierce and Pepin counties, and portions of St. Croix and Buffalo counties. Hardest hit were the townships of Oak Grove, Trimbelle, Ellsworth, El Paso, Hartland and Salem in Pierce County.

Linemen from three Wisconsin cooperatives--Riverland Energy, Jackson Electric, Clark Electric--are assisting PPCS crews with restoration.

Crews continue to focus first on repairing damage to lines that serve the greatest number of members. The focus will then shift to individual line outages. It's difficult to estimate restoration times, but crews continue to work to restore electricity as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate our members' patience. We will continue to keep you informed on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Please check our outage map or login to SmartHub for the latest information about the areas affected.
