Hokanson named salesman for Ellsworth Ford

Stephen Hokanson was 18-years-old when he walked into Ellsworth Ford, in a suit-and-tie, asking for a job.

He was given a position in car detailing, with the promise he would be trained as a salesman.

Hokanson thought he would be in car detailing for awhile, maybe four years.

It turns out he was a little off, as four years was only 18 months. He was named to the position last month.

“I like cars and I like people,” he said. “I can’t think of a better position than sales.”

Hokanson explained he went with Ford as he liked the company and knew “they were the top of the market.”

Hokanson said so far the stress of being a salesman hasn’t been there and he’s been surprised on how he can read people when they walk into the dealership.

He was born in Minnesota and moved to Elmwood at a young age. He graduated from Baldwin Christian School as both his parents Charles and Maribel were teachers there.

Hokanson turns 20 next month.
