Pierce County Food Pantry volunteer Val Gordon was named Quarterly Outstanding Volunteer.

"Val is a wonderful volunteer. In September alone, she worked almost 40 hours. She's a hard-worker who always has a smile on her face and truly enjoys helping our clients navigate the pantry," Pantry Director Jeff Bealles said. "Val also provides valuable insight and feedback on how we can improve pantry operations and better serve our clients. We're very fortunate to have Val on our team."

The Pierce County Food Pantry needs friendly volunteers to work in the pantry. Duties may include light paperwork, helping pantry customers shop, stocking shelves, light cleaning, food pick-up (drivers) and reception.

Help is needed on the following shifts: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday. The food pantry offers a fun and safe environment with meaningful volunteer opportunities. Contact Jeff Bealles at 715-273-2070k or hungerprevention@gmail.com for more information.
