The Dunn County Communications Center was notified of the incident around 7:10 p.m., reports the Dunn County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies, Boyceville Police and Boyceville Ambulance service responded to the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at his residence by the Dunn County Medical Examiner.

The Sheriff's Office believes there is no indication this was an intentional act or any foul play involved.

They remind everyone to use the four basic rules of firearm safety:

-- Always point the muzzle in a safe direction

-- Be certain of your target and what's beyond

-- Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
