80th birthday party for Beulah Schutz Sunday
STOCKHOLM - No matter her age, Beulah Schutz lives by the following.
"We weren't put on this Earth to do nothing," she said. "We were put on this Earth to create."
At an age where most people are retired, Schutz, 79, is still working every Tuesday-Thursday as the lunch chef for Gelly's Pub and Eatery in Stockholm. The establishment will be hosting a 80th birthday party for her, starting 5 p.m. this Sunday with a pot-luck dinner, followed by music from DitchLiles at 6 p.m.
Beulah and Gelly's co-owner Diane Gelhar had known each other for about seven years as Beulah used to bring her vegetables and flowers to the Harrisburg Inn in Maiden Rock, another business Diane and husband Wayne own.
