PRESCOTT - Although the No. 1 ranked Ellsworth High School wrestling team was a strong favorite to win Thursday's dual meet with Hwy. 10 rival Prescott Thursday, the Panthers added a little more power to their performance.

An aggressive EHS team won all but one match against a solid Prescott squad to win the dual meet 63-4.

Josh Hines punctuated Purple power against Prescott with his upset win over top-ranked Troy Urman by a 2-0 score aftre notching the winning takedown in overtime at 152 pounds.

Sawyer Strom at 106 was also an overtime winner for the Panthers as he came from behind to beat another of PHS top wrestlers, Sam Hoopingarner, 9-7 in overtime, also on a takedown.

Prescott's lone win of the meet came from Tyler Miller as he defeated Brandon VanderMarliere by a 9-1 major decision at 182.

Dennis Schutz returned to the EHS main varsity line-up for the first time since 2012 and recorded a pin at 220.

Ellsworth improves to 5-0 in Middle Border Conference dual meets and 7-1 overall. The Panthers wrstle at the Cambridge-Isanti, Minn. Dual Tournament this Saturday. Prescott drops to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in the MBC.
