All-MBC softball team has six county players
Both Ellsworth and Prescott high schools contributed three softball players each to the All-Middle Border Conference team.
The three players from Prescott are seniors Chelsea Wilfong, Carissa Boleen and junior Chole Carlson. Wilfong batted .417 in league play and Boleen batted .375. Carlson had an 8-4 record as a pitcher and struck out 52 batters in 70 innings.
The three players from Ellsworth were senior Emily Claesson, junior Miranda Robey and the lone freshman on the All-MBC team Kayla Christopherson.
Claesson and Robey hit .417 and .395 respectively and Christopherson hit .426.
Other players on the all-conference team are senior Tara Kimberly, sophomore Michelle Hinz, and junior Brianna Fleming of Baldwin-Woodville; seniors Nikki Singerhouse, Hannah Bygd, Paige Spaulding and sophomores Dani Lagerstrom and Kristy Martinson of MBC champion New Richmond; senior Claire Traynor and juniors Kristen Jasperson and Kayla Classen of Osceola; juniors Karen Hansen and Taylor Luke of Amery and senior Bre Kohn of Somerset.
Those all-conference players who on the team last year were Boleen, Singerhouse, Bygd, Kimberly, Krohn, and Luke Spauling. Fleming received honorable mention last season.
Receiving honorable mention from Pierce County was Prescott's freshman Alyssa Krings and junior Mary Johnson and Ellsworth senior Lauren Freier.
