Anderson ready for something new

PLUM CITY--Connie Anderson is looking forward to change in her life.

"I've been in school since I was five," she said. "I'm ready for something different."

Anderson retired last week after 35 years in the teaching profession, including the last 25 at Plum City.

"I've enjoyed helping and challenging people, along with passing on knowledge," she said. "It's been a great ride. We've had all-around good kids and a staff filled with wonderful people. "

Field trips

The Stockholm native has always wanted to be a teacher, with her initial interest being math. Those interests changed in college, where Anderson earned her degree from UW-Stout, and started her career in Mondovi, teaching Title I.

She lasted 10 years in Title I, between Mondovi and schools in Southwestern Minnesota, before coming to Plum City in 1984 to teach then-Home Economics and Biology.
