Another big win on the scoreboard for Prescott gridders
ST. CROIX FALLS - Prescott High School's football team picked-up right where they left off from last week's big win over Barron. The Cardinals continued to churn out rushing yards and points to the total of a 42-6 win over St. Croix Falls Friday. PHS is 2-0 overall.
A rain delay set the game back 30 minutes and the hometown Saints stunned the Cardinals by returning the kick-off for a touchdown and a 6-0 lead.
But PHS's defense still remains unscored upon as SCF did nothing on offense for the duration. Prescott scored on its first possession of the ballgame on a 21-yard run by Nolan Schock and kept scoring until the end. Justin Lynner had a pair of touchdown runs of 11 and 21 yards and Tristen Eicher returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown.
The Cardinals begin Middle Border Conference play next Friday at Amery. The Warriors were blanked by Bloomer 47-0 Thursday to drop to 1-1 on the season.
