Appeals court upholds Reeverts' 12th OWI
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

In a decision released Tuesday, the District III Court of Appeals affirmed a Pierce County man's 12th drunken driving conviction.

In his appeal, Ronald Scott Reeverts, 46, Beldenville, claimed the deputy did not have grounds to stop him on the road, and he was unreasonably detained and illegally arrested.

Reeverts was convicted of 12th-offense driving with a prohibited alcohol content as a result of incidents occurring July 17, 2010.

On July 25, 2011, Pierce County Judge Joseph Boles sentenced the man to four years in state prison, followed by five years of extended supervision. A condition of his release from prison is he be placed in a sober recovery facility.

The prison term was to run concurrent with a one-year jail term on an earlier conviction for bail jumping. Online court records indicate Reeverts is now an inmate at Stanley Correctional Institution.

According to background in the appeals court decision, Pierce County deputies were dispatched to investigate a domestic incident after receiving a 911 call. When the dispatcher called back, the woman who answered the phone said the man had left in a pickup truck.
