Area teens sentenced to jail for burglary
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

Four area teenagers will each spend between 45 days to five months in jail as a result of burglary-related charges.

The four - Alexander M. Saunders, 18, Ellsworth; Matthew M. Regenscheid, 17, Bay City; Adam G. Larson, 19, Bay City and Derek M. F. Goulette, 19, Hager City - all pled guilty to at least two counts of criminal damage to property and placed on two years probation.

Goulette was sentenced to the most jail time, five months, on Oct. 26, due to the fact he was charged with the most offenses; Saunders, who was also sentenced Oct. 26 got four months and already started his jail term Nov. 18; Regenscheid got three months and Larson got 45 days. Regenscheid found out his penalty last Friday, while Larson was also sentenced Oct. 26. All four were granted huber privileges.

Larson got the least amount of jail time due to the fact he had no previous criminal record.

"Ninety days is an exceptionally a long time," said Liesl Nelson, Larson's attorney as that's what Pierce County Assistant District Attorney Bill Thorie was arguing for. "I feel he's already gotten the message about the seriousness of the offense." Pierce County Circuit Court Judge Robert Wing, who handled all four cases, agreed.
