Attendance down at annual EAA Fly-in

About 20,000 fewer people attended this year's EAA AirVenture Show in Oshkosh.

But considering the economy and high fuel prices, group president Tom Poberezny considered it a success.

About 540,000 people went through the turn-stiles for the week-long air show.

That total includes the daily tickets, plus seven admissions for each weekly pass sold.

Also, more than 10,000 planes flew into the event, including more than 2,500 show-planes. There were almost 800 commercial exhibits.

About 2,100 visitors registered at the international tent. They came from 71 foreign countries.
