Audrey Olson, 61

Audrey Olson, age 61, died Friday, Oct. 4, at her home in Woodville, surrounded by loved ones.

Audrey was born Sept. 7, 1952, the daughter of Bernom and Gertrude (Bauer) King in Plum City, Wisconsin. She attended Plum City Schools and graduated with the Class of 1970.

After high school Audrey attended college at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire for a year before enrolling at Chippewa Valley Technical College where she trained as a Medical Technician. She worked at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis as a Lab Tech.

On Oct. 13, 1974, she married David Olson. They lived in Bemidji, Minnesota, while David completed his Journeymanship in Meat Cutting, then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, for two years. In 1978, they moved to Spring Valley where they owned and operated Spring Valley Locker. In 1990, they moved their business to Woodville and in 2009, sold the business to their sons and retired.

Audrey enjoyed the little things in life. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and making personalized gifts for her family. She loved road trips, camping on Bone Lake, and traveling. Most important was spending time with her family. Audrey was known for her beautiful smile and kindness throughout the community.

Her father preceded her in death in 1968.

Survivors include her husband David of Woodville; mother Gertrude King of Plum City; 3 sons: Kevin (fianc Fadra Greene) Olson of Spring Valley, Cory (Dalia) Olson of Spring Valley, and Keith (Jessica) Olson of Glenwood City; eight grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kaleb, and Madelyn Olson, Mykolas and Adam Olson, and Dylan, Devynn, and Jaxin Olson; two step daughters: Kim (Jim) Fitch of Eau Claire; and Kelly Poppy of Apple Valley, Minn.; three step grandchildren: Jeremy and Samantha Poppy, and Brendon Fitch; 1 step great-grandchild: Aubrey Poppy; 7 brothers and sisters: Steve King, Plum City, Larry King, Strum, Ken (Carlotta) King, Eleva, Karen (John) Kothbauer, Arkansaw, Chris (Mike) Quackenbush, Hudson, Julie (Dan) Laabs, Chanhassen, Minn., and Amy (Tim) Rundquist, Prescott; other relatives; and friends

Visitation was on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Memorial funeral service was on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Valley with Fr. Kevin Louis and Deacon Kevin Ray officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Honorary bearers were her sons: Kevin, Cory, and Keith.
