Authorities believe crashed plane was listed missing
HAWLEY, Minn. - Authorities in western Minnesota think a fatal plane crash near Hawley may be the same plane which went missing on a flight from Superior to Moorhead.
A search plane spotted the wreckage of the single-engine plane yesterday afternoon at about 4:15 p.m. Authorities found a dead body inside the wreckage a little over an hour later. The plane had been reported missing at about 12:30 p.m. Friday.
The pilot's name hasn't been released. He was reportedly flying to visit family in Moorhead. They say they last heard from him when he was flying over Park Rapids, which is about 150 miles west of Superior.
