Back Channel Blues Band to perform during Cheese Curd Festival
David Murphy explained some of the secrets which have led to the Back Channel Blues Band to stay in existence for over 20 years.
“We are all friends,” Murphy explained. “We are aware of the cycles in everyone’s lives and we are very tolerant when special needs pop up.”
Murphy (bass guitar), who lives in Ellsworth, was a co-founder along with Dan Feindt (vocals) and Tom Glass (drummer) back in 1990.
“If you build it, they will come,” Murphy said “And we added the right people,” with those additions being lead guitarists Jeff Ekblad, Russ Baldwin and Steve Kaminski on harmonica.
The band will take the stage 8 p.m., June 29 during the Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival.
Another secret is the band’s dedication.
“We want it to be a high-quality band,” Murphy said. “We have a very solid rhythm section who know every song in the book. I think visiting soloists feel comfortable playing with us,” adding local soloist Colleen Raye has played with them on multiple occasions.
