Badgers alone atop Big Ten after taking out Ohio State
The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team took sole possession of first place in the Big Ten with a 58-53 win at Ohio State Sunday.
The 11th-ranked Badgers held the Buckeyes scoreless for the final 3:14.
That was partially due to two blocked shots by senior Brian Butch -- who scored his 1,000th career point and had nine on the afternoon.
Wisconsin was down early, committing 11 turnovers in the first 15.5 minutes, but they battled back to tie the game at 32 at the break.
They went ahead for good with a 9-0 run ending with about seven minutes left. Jason Bohannon led the Badgers with 16 points, and senior Michael Flowers tied a career-high with six assists.
Jamar Butler had 14 for Ohio State, which fell to 8-6 in the Big Ten and 17-10 overall.
Wisconsin has now won a school-record seven conference road games.
They're 13-2 in the Big Ten, a half-game up on Purdue and Indiana. Wisconsin is 23-4 overall and will host Michigan State Thursday night.
