Baldwin teen hurt in Sunday night rollover
SPRING VALLEY -- A Baldwin teenager was airlifted from the Spring Valley High School parking lot to a St. Paul hospital Sunday night after he was ejected from his car in a one-vehicle rollover in the town of Gilman, about two mile west of city limits.
Jacob Martin, 18, was identified as the sole occupant of a vehicle that overturned while traveling northbound on 330th Street north of 850th Avenue about 8:24 p.m., according to Deputy Jean Spletstoser of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
Radio transmissions from the scene indicated Martin likely suffered a broken leg.
He was transported by ambulance to meet a medical helicopter at a landing zone established by fire department personnel near the high school. A Regions spokesperson said Monday morning he was in good condition.
Assisting deputies at the scene were Spring Valley fire & ambulance personnel, a paramedic from the Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service and Jerry's Towing.
