Firefighters from four departments, including Ellsworth, were called to a barn fire in the Town of El Paso Wednesday morning.
The blaze, reported to be in bales in a hay mow, was at Di-Na-Mi-Te Dairy, Inc., W5048 Hwy. 72. Flames were visible from the barn's roof and smoke billowing in the sky could be seen from vantage points around the scene, approximately five miles east of Ellsworth. Cows were evacuated from the structure, which remained intact, though sections of its roof were scorched.
The EFD received mutual aid from Elmwood, Prescott and Spring Valley fire crews following the initial call shortly after 10 a.m. (Herald photo by Bill Kirk)
