Baseball season to go on for Spring Valley High School despite coach's status
SPRING VALLEY - Despite the announced suspension of Spring Valley High School head baseball coach Brad Sauve, Spring Valley High School officials said the 2010 baseball season will go on as planned.
Spring Valley Superintendent of Schools David Wellington said today in an interview with the Herald that despite Sauve's suspension from his duties as the district's athletic director and head coach, the season will begin on March 22 as planned.
Wellington said that interim coaches will be found if the district's investigation goes past the official starting date of the season. The decision on this may be as soon as next week.
This would be Sauve's 30th season as head coach. He is a member of the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and has won four Dunn-St. Croix Conference and several regional tournament titles as head coach.
