Benefit for Aaron Boleen Aug. 1
Last Feb. 1 started off like any other typical day for Aaron Boleen.
After a normal round of doing chores and milking cows, the 21-year-old and older brother Brandon decided to go for a snowmobile ride before breakfast.
That's when the day turned into one like no other.
The ride turned tragic, as both ended up being thrown from their snowmobiles. Brandon suffered cuts and bruises; Aaron wasn't as fortunate.
He was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, news crushing his father.
"When I realized they're flying him, my heart dropped to my feet," said Steve Boleen. "That's when I know something serious was wrong."
Steve's fears were realized, as Aaron's injury was to his C3 area in his spine, meaning he is paralyzed from the chest down, including both arms and legs.
Friends and family have come together for Aaron's cause and will host a benefit from 3 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Aug. 1, at The Bluffs Bar and Grill in Hager City.
"We're just blown away that people would be willing to do something like this for him and our family," Steve said.
