Benefit for Ty Fisher August 9

ELMWOOD--A benefit will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, for Ty Fisher at the Exile Bar, located off of CTH S.

On June 3, Fisher, 52, fell off the top of a grain bin located at the family’s feed lot, next to Grange Hall. He was taken to River Falls Area Hospital and then transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for emergency surgery.

Fisher ended up with a shattered left heel and a broken right ankle. The prognosis calls for him to be in a wheelchair for approximately four months.

“He’s a very giving person,” said friend Linda Blodgett. “Whatever you need, whether it was a hardware tool or a ride home from the bar, he would do it.”

Events start at 1 p.m., with a DJ, a meal consisting of items such as pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and beans, along with raffles and a silent auction. The bean bag tournament kicks into gear at 2 p.m.

Blodgett said last week Fisher plans to attend the benefit.

For those who are unable to attend, an account for Fisher has been set up at Bank Mutual. For additional information, go to Facebook and type in “Benefit for Ty Fisher” on the search bar.
