Bombers get dramatic win over Hager City
BAY CITY - The Bay City Bombers won in a walk off over the Hager City Skeeters at Hortenbach Park Sunday afternoon.
Jordan Eggenberger came up to bat with two outs, runner on first and second, and hit a walk off single. He also was the winning pitcher as he went nine innings, gave up eight hits, five walks, and strikeout seven.
Eggenberger returned to the mound after suffering a fractured jaw and lacerations to the mouth last weekend against Plum City. He underwent surgery on Thursday but was back and ready to play.
The Skeeters got on top early scoring two runs, first one by Elliot Foley ( a two-out RBI in the first inning) and another run was added in the third to be up 2-0.
The Bombers responded in the fourth inning with Justin Lance hitting an RBI-double putting the bombers within one run. Eggenberger grounded into a fielders choice in the fifth inning but Derek Ulvenes made a heads up play and scored off it.
Ulvenes went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate.
The Bombers had 13 hits to the Skeeters' eight.
