Booters upset No. 19 Pointers
The UW-River Falls soccer team won a pair of home games over the weekend, knocking off 19th-ranked UW-Stevens Point, 2-1, Saturday before rolling over Ripon, 7-1, on Sunday.
The Falcons, now 4-8 overall, will return to Ramer Field Wednesday, Oct. 5, to take on Bethel at 4 p.m. Saturday they visit UW-Eau Claire for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff.
Eryn Lansverk scored both Falcon goals in the win over UW-SP, including the game-winner on a breakaway in the 59th minute, to hand the Pointers their first WIAC loss of the season.
Lansverk also scored on a breakaway in the 21st minute to give UW-RF a 1-0 lead. Falcon goalkeeper Rachel Thompson made three saves in the win.
Sunday against Ripon, Lansverk tallied a hat trick in the Falcons' 7-1 victory over the Redhawks.
Carlin Bunting and Janae Baron had a goal and two assists each and Anna Kouba and Beth Crain each had a goal, while Thompson made one save in net.
