Busy day of prep sports, weather permitting

With fingers crossed that the weather cooperates (which hasn't been true much this spring), Pierce County prep sporting teams hope to get in their tournament and other games in today.

The Ellsworth boys' tennis team is at Baldwin-Woodville for WIAA Division 2 Subsectional competition.

High school golf regionals are today as well. Spring Valley is in Luck for the Division 3 get-together hosted by Unity. The Division 2 Somerset Regional at Bristol Ridge will be played Wednesday involving Ellsworth and Prescott.

Track regionals are also today. Ellsworth hosts the Division 2 meet which includes Prescott. Field events begin at 4 p.m. and running events start at 4:45 p.m. at Fuller-Symes Field.  The county's Division 3 track teams, Elmwood/Plum City and Spring Valley are in Boyceville for this afternoon's D-3 meet.

Softball teams have regional semifinals today. Ellsworth will be at Baldwin to take on the state's No. 1 ranked team in Division 2, Baldwin-Woodville. Prescott hosts Bloomer in Division 3 and Elmwood/Plum City is at Boyceville in Division 4. Games begin at either 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m.

There will be several baseball games today as well as this will be the final week of the regular season. Prescott hosts Osceola, Ellsworth is at Somerset, Spring Valley is at Elmwood and Plum City is at Durand.
