Car-buggy accident injures Amish family

PIGEON - The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says inattentive driving is to blame for an accident Friday night which left nine people with life-threatening injuries.

A car traveling on Highway 53-121 at about 10:20 p.m. ran into the back of an Amish buggy. David and Lydia Wengerd and seven children were injured severely.

The 19 year old driver of the motor vehicle wasn't injured. The accident happened near Pigeon in western Wisconsin.
