No one was injured in a rear-end collision involving a car and a school bus with passengers in Ellsworth Wednesday.

A Ford Focus, driven by Christine Cain of Ellsworth, was southbound on N. Beulah Street near Kinne Street in the village when it struck the rear of the Ellsworth School District bus, driven by Ted Place of Hager City.

The bus was stopped on Beulah and Cain said she was unable to stop for it because of slippery conditions on a hill. She also couldn't swerve or go around to avoid the bus because students on their way to the bus were present.

The Ellsworth Police Department responded to the accident, reported around 7:15 a.m. The Focus, which had severe front-end damage, was loaded onto a flatbed truck from Dick's Auto Body.
