Cardinal boys' hoops teams loses in sectional final
EAU CLAIRE - Elk Mound proved to be too long and too tough for Prescott High School's boys basketball team to handle. The Mounders won the WIAA Division 3 Eau Claire North Sectional Tournament Saturday afternoon by a 47-36 score.
PHS used outside shooting from Michael Brookshaw to go in front after the first quarter 12-9. But the No. 3 ranked Mounders, 24-1 overall, went on a 7-0 run to take a 16-12 lead. Prescott tied the game at 16-16 and that was as close as they would come again. EM took a 20-16 lead at hafltime and led by over 11 points in the second half.
