Cardinals soar past Raiders in fourth quarter

SPRING VALLEY - A 13-7 fourth quarter margin was decisive for Spring Valley High School's girls' basketball team as they beat Elmwood Friday 56-47 in the regular season finale for both teams.


Spring Valley's Aarynn Deutsch scored nine of her game-high 21 points in the final quarter after begin held to just two points in the third. Valley held small leads in this closely contest, 30-29 at halftime and 43-40 heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Elmwood had four players in double figures led by Christine McKune's 13 points. SV swept the season series as they improve to 5-17 overall. Elmwood dropped to 3-16.
