Come to the comedy show on Saturday night
The Bluffs Bar and Grill in Hager City will host a comedy night 7:30 p.m. Saturday, as it's the second annual fundraiser for the Ellsworth Hubbers baseball team and Bob Young Field.
The night will feature comedians Michael Thorne and Tom Steffen, with the host being former UW-River Falls alum Todd Andrews.
Thorne talks about all topics of life in a fast-paced comedy style leaving audiences flinching with laughter. Relationships are one of his favorite topics, but don't expect advice like Dr. Phil or Oprah, it's more like Judge Judy meeting Jerry Springer.
Steffen was a successful radio personality for almost two decades before taking a new career path of stand-up in 2002. He has performed in numerous clubs in the Upper Midwest, was a semi-finalist in Acme Comedy Company's 2003 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest and, most recently, a 2007 regional contender in Comedy Central's Open Microphone Fight Contest. Steffen shares the goofy adventures he finds in everyday living, to the absurd and bizarre things to be found in the ordinary art of conversation.
Tickets are $10 for the event, which features limited seating and an age limit of at least 18 years or older. They can be purchased by stopping at The Bluffs in Hager City, buying from a member of the Hubbers or by calling 273-5207.
