COUNTY BOYS BASKETBALL ROUND-UP: Spring Valley boys win sixth straight

The Spring Valley Boys Basketball team wons its sixth straight contest Friday evening 46-39 over St. Croix Central in Hammond.

SV improves to 7-1 overall and has a Dunn-St. Croix Conference showdown at No. 7 ranked Elk Mound Monday. The Mounders crushed Colfax 59-43 last evening in league play.

The Cardinals rallied from a 24-17 halftime deficit with a 21-9 third quarter run. 

Spring Valley's Zac Webster led all scorers with 19 points and Joe Helmer finished with 10 points.

Also in the D-SC, Mondovi beat-up Boycevlle 60-37 and Glenwood City routed Elmwood 72-43, dropping the Raiders to 1-9 overall. The Hilltoppers, 2-7 overall, went on a 23-0 run in the first half to reverse a slight 18-13 Raider lead to a 35-18 halftime advantage. Elmwood's Levi Wolf led all scorers with 27 points but GC offset this with four players in double figures.
