COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUND-UP: Ellsworth, Prescott tumble in league action

Ellsworth and Prescott's girls' basketball teams both came up short of victory in Middle Border Conference play Friday evening.

EHS dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the MBC after losing 61-50 at home to Somerset. It was the Spartans' first league win.

Prescott was beaten by Durand 57-36 but not after the Cardinals led 25-20 at halftime. The Panthers, 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the league, outscored Prescott 37-11 in the second half led by the game-high 33 points of Morganne Gruber.

PHS, 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference, was led in scoring by Mariah Krings 10 points. Katy Syverson and Elly Boles both scored eight points.
