County highway truck involved in accident
A Pierce County Highway maintainer truck was involved in an one-car accident Thursday morning while plowing snow.
Thomas W. Mueller, Spring Valley, was plowing snow around 11 a.m. on State Highway 63, near 535th St., when the truck struck several bridge beams with its plow while the truck was removing snow from the bridge deck. The truck continued for a short distance and struck a guard rail at the end of the bridge with the wing portion of the plow.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department was soon notified of the accident. Once the plow was removed, the truck was driven from the scene. One lane of STH 63 was closed for a short time while the plow was removed. Mueller was uninjured.
The Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Highway Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
