Craft brings office, sales background to chamber job
The Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce's new coordinator has experience as an office administrator and a sales representative.
Renee Craft started in the position last month, succeeding Kim Johnson. Craft moved to this area from Lakeville, Minn., a year ago and decided to seek employment after a recent break.
"I wanted to get back to work," she said Thursday, adding, "I just didn't know how soon."
As coordinator, she expects to expand the chamber membership and promote the community, she said. She'll be in the chamber office on N. Chestnut Street several days a week.
Craft said she and her family were encouraged to relocate from the Twin Cities to this vicinity by a friend living in Prescott. The friend was very persuasive, even sending her e-mails about properties available in this area.
"It fits like a glove," the transplant said about how much she enjoys her new community, adding, "I don't have an ounce of regret."
She and husband Kevin have settled on 20 acres outside of the village, she said. He has a business in Hastings, Minn., called Home Entertainment Solutions, which installs low-voltage systems such as surround sound and phone-related connections, mainly in new construction. They have two daughters: Lauren, a second-year student at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn., and Aleesha, a senior at Ellsworth High School. The family also has two dogs, cats and a horse.
