Deer harvested in Racine County tested positive for CWD

Email News Alerts

RACINE - A deer killed by a bow-hunter in Racine County last month has tested positive for chronic wasting disease.

The state DNR said today that a three-and-a-half year old antlerless deer was registered by the hunter on November 12th, after it was killed near Burlington. It's the first deer in Racine County to be tested positive for CWD - but because there were other positive findings in adjacent counties, Racine County will not get any new limits on deer baiting-and-feeding.
