PLUM CITY - A second half surge of points fueled by an opportunistic press helped the Plum City High School girls basketball team beat St. Croix Central Friday 59-47.

The game was tied at 23-23 at halftime before PC outscored SCC 36-24 in the second half.

The Blue Devils used their quickness, especially in the backcourt to force steals which were converted into points. Plum City guard Sarah Gilles scored many of her 16 points in this way.

The Dunn-St. Croix Conference's leading scorer, Plum City's Cheyanne Catura, led her team again in scoring with 19 points. Teammate Elaina Danzinger finished with eight points.

Plum City improves to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the D-SC. The Devils take on Prescott at Prescott Monday.
