WOODBURY, Minn. -- Authorities said domestic rage led a South St. Paul woman to crash a vehicle loaded with children into an SUV occupied by her boyfriend and another woman on a Woodbury street.

Emma Fernandez-Fernandez, 40, was charged with one count apiece of gross-misdemeanor child neglect and child endangerment, as well as one count of fifth-degree assault.

The charges stem from an Aug. 17 incident in which police were called to a report of a domestic incident involving "vehicles crashing into each other," with occupants fighting in the street, according to a criminal complaint.

A man at the scene explained that the women were both mothers to his children. The man said he and one woman and a child were driving in a Nissan Titan belonging to Fernandez-Fernandez, who became enraged after spotting them in her vehicle. Fernandez-Fernandez, who was driving with her two children, a 3-year and an 11-month-old, began following the Nissan in her Chevrolet Avalanche and crashed the Avalanche into the Titan intentionally, the complaint states.

After the crash, Fernandez-Fernandez got out of the Avalanche, went to the Nissan, pulled the woman out of the vehicle and threw her to the ground and punched her, according to the complaint.

Fernandez-Fernandez was released from Washington County jail on $10,000 conditional bail, which calls for her to have no contact with the other woman.

Fernandez-Fernandez makes her first court appearance on Oct. 21.
