Douglas "Doug" S. Pfingsten, Sr., 66
Douglas "Doug" S. Pfingsten, Sr., age 66, of Ellsworth, died suddenly at Mayo Health Systems, Red Wing, Minn., on Saturday, Dec. 27.
Doug was born on Feb. 12, 1947, in Plum City, Wis., the son of Sylvester and June (Bundy) Pfingsten. He was a 1965 graduate of Elmwood High School. On July 31, 1965, he was united in marriage to Ethel Kukuska in Saint Croix County, Wis. Doug worked for North Star Steel (now Gerdau) in South St. Paul, retiring in 2008, after 37 and years of service.
In his spare time Doug enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Ethel Pfingsten, Ellsworth, Wis.; two children: Doug (LuAnn Dahl) Pfingsten, Jr., Bay City, Wis., and Laurie (David) O'Neil, Ellsworth, Wis.; four grandchildren: Tiffany, Casey, Ashley, and Jesse; one great-grandson Mason; two brothers and one sister: Chuck (Jeannie) Pfingsten, Elmwood, Wis.; Debbie (Randy) Hague, Rock Elm, Wis.; and Richard Pfingtsten, River Falls, Wis. Doug is further survived by nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and other relatives and friends.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth, Wis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and for one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.
