Dunn County Sheriff asking for public's help to catch suspect

Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith announced Thursday they are asking for the public's help in search of suspect(s) whom caused the death of a horse.

In a press release, Smith said on July 16, the Sheriff's Office received a complaint of an injured horse in the town of Colfax. Upon investigation, it was found some unknown person(s) lead a horse named "Leo" from its stall located in the training facility into an office elevated off the arena area. Leo became agitated and forced its way through a wall, falling over a fence into a corral on the other side of the wall. Leo sustained significant external and internal injuries. After trying to save the animal, the owner and veterinarian were forced to put Leo down.

Smith said if anyone has any information, please contact the Dunn County Sheriff's Office via the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-855-TIP DUNN (847-3866) or at www.dunncrimestoppers.com
