EHS duo takes third at MBC tennis meet

NEW RICHMOND - After being shuout completely in the previous two Middle Border Conference meets, the Ellsworth High School girls' tennis team not only scored point in this year's meet but also had place winners as well.

The Panthers' No. 3 doubles team of Kendra Thoen and Allyson Stoetzel placed third and the No. 2 doubles team of Marissa Schumaker and Kenzie Anderson placed fourth.

No. 1 singles player Jordan Olson had Ellsworth's highest finish in singles action as she placed fifth.

Ellsworth finished sixth in the meet with five points, one point out of fourth place. Baldwin-Woodville won the meet with 35 points.

For more on the meet read next week's Herald print edition which hits newstands next Tuesday. Ellsworth will be busy before then, competing in the WIAA D-2 Baldwin-Woodville Subsectional Monday at Baldwin.
