EHS looking for new boys basketball coach once again

Ellsworth High School will be in the market for a new boys' basketball head coach as Scott Pettersen has recently announced his resignation.

Pettersen had been put on a district layoff list from his teaching position but had told the Herald back in April that he would remain as head basketball coach.

Pettersen lasted all of one season with the Panthers, compiling a 2-21 overall record, 0-14 in the Middle Border Conference. It's the most losses ever in one season in program history.

However that history in the past decade has been a bad one filled with instability. Pettersen was the fifth head coach during this time span and now EHS will be looking for its sixth coach since Curt Dummermuth retired in 2001.
