EHS student Stoesz sings national anthem before finals at state wrestling tournament

Courtney Stoesz stands outside her dressing room below the Kohl Center stands just before she sang the national anthem.

MADISON - Courtney Stoesz said to Anne Anderson how it would be a neat experience to sing the national anthem in front of a big event, like just before the finals of the Wisconsin high school wrestling tournament for example.

That's when the Ellsworth High School Athletic Director decided to make the Ellsworth High School student's wish come true.

Anderson helped Stoesz line-up the gig before this year's WIAA State High School Wrestling Tournament. And before nearly 13,000 fans in the Kohl Center, Stoesz sung the anthem to a roaring ovation.
