Ellsworth American Legion baseball team remains undefeated

Ellsworth’s American Legion Post 204 senior legion baseball team won three games in a row last week to improve its overall record to 4-0 in the Gopher State League.


At White Bear Lake last Tuesday, Ellsworth scored 14 runs combined from the third through sixth innings after only leading 3-1 to eventually win 17-1. Eric McGregor tossed a two-hitter to get the win. Ellsworth had 10 hits with Dan Giese and Spencer Schroeder getting three apiece.

Ellsworth beat the St. Paul Renegades 11-1 in seven innings Wednesday in St. Paul. Isaac Hines was the winning pitcher. Ellsworth had 15 hits led by Michael Koch’s three while Schroeder, Nick Taranto and Dennis Schutz all had two hits.

Ellsworth played its first home game Thursday vs. Roseville Royals. Post 204 won 9-1 thanks to winning pitcher Brady Yanish’s 11 strikeouts. Taranto and Schutz both had two hits while McGregor hit an RBI-triple.

Ellsworth's next home game is Monday against Willernie starting at 7 p.m.
