TOWN OF EL PASO--Dave Bull celebrated his 54th birthday Wednesday.

Despite being a special day, it was like every other day for Bull in at least one regard. The Town of El Paso resident lived through the occasion with diabetes.

"I have my ups and downs," he said when asked how he was feeling. He confirmed the questioner's suspicion he felt well on his birthday, but admitted he wasn't so good the previous day, when he'd overdone it.

Although Bull and his wife, Michelle, commute regularly for his job in Rosemount, Minn., and hers in Eagan, Minn., he said they also help out at Vino in the Valley, near their home. Vino will host "The Faces of Diabetes," a Saturday, Aug. 21, fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which he plans to attend.
