Ellsworth, EPC compete in indoor meet in River Falls
RIVER FALLS - Ellsworth and Elmwood/Plum City prep track and field teams had several winning performances at the Menomonie Indoor Invitational held at the Knowles Center on the UW-River Falls's campus Tuesday.
EPC's Seth Jones won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:11.69; the EPC girls' 1600-meter relay team finished first in a time of 4:30.49. Ellsworth's Logan Blodgett won the shot put with a toss of 46 feet and six inches and the Panthers' Michaela DeGross won the pole vault with a height of 7-6.
Other top three performances by the two Pierce County teams include EPC girls' 3200-meter relay team, third; EPC's Jillian Holt, second in the pole vault; EPC girls' 800-meter relay team, second; Ellsworth's Brett Freier, second in the boys 55-meter hurdles; EPC's Andrew Gilles, third in the mile run; Ellsworth boys' 800-meter relay, third; Ellsworth's Olivia Helmer, third in the long jump; EPC's Addie Morrell, second in the 400; EPC's Elaina Danzinger, second in the 800-meter run; EPC's Marah Boyer, second in the 400-meter dash; EPC boys 1600-meter relay, third; Ellsworth's Alex Campbell, third in the long jump.
In the team standings for the girls' meet it was Rice Lake winning with 150 points followed by Menomonie 129.50, Elmwood/Plum City 82, Somerset 66, Bloomer 59.5, Ellsworth 52, Amery 26 and Chippewa Falls McDonell nine. In the team scores in the boys' meet were Somerset 134, Menomonie 129; Rice Lake 121.5, Chippewa Falls McDonell 51, Ellsworth 43.50; EPC 42.50, Bloomer 38.5, Amery 22.
