Ellsworth hoops teams split doubleheader at Amery

AMERY - A prep high school basketball doubleheader between Ellsworth and Amery Friday was a split. The Ellsworth boys team won 61-40 while the girls team lost 45-27.

After a slow start in the first half, the Panther boys team outscored the Warriors 26-9 in the third quarter to lead 49-27. 

EHS had three players in double figures led by Will Huppert's 26 points. Chrystian Kulow finished with 12 points and Logan Armstrong had 10 points. Kulow had five assists and Hupopert grabbed nine rebounds.

Ellsworth's boys team improved to 8-5 overall, 7-2 in the Middle Border Conference.

Ellsworth's girls team remains winless in the MBC at 0-8. Overall the Panther girls team is 1-11.

Ellsworth's boys team hosts Durand Tuesday while the girls team is at Prescott.
