Ellsworth Lions Club to hold fishing contest Sunday

The Ellsworth Lions Club will hold its 26th annual fishing contest Sunday at Nugget Lake Park.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with drawings at 3 p.m. Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent. Sunday is part of a Free Fishing Weekend throughout the state, so no license is needed. Payment is still needed to enter Nugget Lake.

Trophies will be awarded in three categories: smallest fish, largest sunfish and largest crappie. Door prizes will be available, along with a drawing with first place being a 14-and-a-half-foot Old Town Canoe.

Food on hand will be bratwursts, hot dogs, candy bars, chips, pop and water.
