Ellsworth netters win first MBC dual since 2009 (Updated MBC girls tennis standings)

DURAND - Ellsworth High Schools girls' tennis team won its first Middle Border Conference dual meet since 2009 with a 6-1 win over Durand Thursday.

EHS got singles wins from Kali Schaar, Mariah Vogel and Kendra Thoen. Ellsworth also picked up doubles wins from Jordan olson and Rochelle Sweig at No. 1 and Kenzie Anderson and Marissa Schumaker at No. 2 along with a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles.

Ellsworth improves to 3-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the MBC. They are at Osceola Monday and are at Bloomer Tuesday.

Baldwin-Woodville took a big step towards winning the MBC title for the third fall in a row as they upended New Richmond 5-2 yesterday in New Richmond.
