Ellsworth, Prescott both winners in MBC action

The table is set for a match-up of the two of the top teams in the Middle Border Conference this coming Tuesday.

Both Ellsworth and Prescott's high school boys' basketball teams won their respective Middle Border Conference games Friday evening, leaving PHS still undefeated in conference play at 7-0 (12-2 overall) while Ellsworth is 5-1 (5-4 overall).

The showdown betwene the two Highway 10 rivals is in Ellsworth and the tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

Ellsworth downed Baldwin-Woodville 72-62 at home to snap a two-game losing streak thanks to big nights from Will Huppert and Chrystian Kulow.

Huppert had 23 points on 9 of 12 shooting along with nine rebounds, and Kulow finished with 20 points and four assists. Nick Taranto added 10 points in the victory.

The Panthers head into Minnesota today to face Pine City in a non-conference doubleheader with the EHS girls' basketball team playing Pine Island as well.

Prescott meanwhile went to Amery last night and crushed the Warriors 56-35. 

The Cardinals lead the MBC with a 7-0 record while Somerset, who also won last night over Durand, is 6-1 and Ellsworth 5-1.
