Ellsworth residents hear from officials on sex offender's presence
A move to Ellsworth by a sex offender whose offense level requires a community notification meeting was discussed at that meeting Tuesday.
Officials attending the session, including Ellsworth Police Chief Greg Place, Pierce County District Attorney John O'Boyle and Jodi Voegeli, sex offender registration specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC), indicated the offender must meet registration requirements, but isn't on any type of supervision. Approximately 20 people were at the gathering at Ellsworth Middle School.
"This is different than in the past," Place said, referring to other such offenders who've come here. "He has moved in from Minnesota."
Place identified the offender as Daniel Curtis Duncan, 29, and said he'll be living at 444 E. Wall St. in Ellsworth.
