Ellsworth School Board goals heard at meeting
Goals dominated the Ellsworth School Board meeting Monday.
The six goals are: 1. Provide guidance and resources needed to implement elements of the strategic plan that have been targeted for year three implementation by the Strategic Planning Committee; 2. The school board will bring a referendum question to the community addressing the facility needs of the district as identified by the Ad Hoc Facilities Committee and other professionally completed facility studies in order to ensure the ability of the district to support the strategic plan; 3. The school board will study and bring a referendum question to the community to renew the expiring ability to exceed the revenue limit; 4. The elements of our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) will continue to be implemented with a focus on the use of student performance data for the purpose of evaluating professional practices in light of student learning. The superintendent will also investigate the ability to have Solution Tree trainers provide on-site training and analysis of our school district; 5. The superintendent will continue to explore Alternative Compensation System development through school board and staff involvement with this program being implemented for the 2014-15 school year; 6. The school board will implement changes to the school district’s health insurance plan design for employees to provide for a quality program while also focusing on cost and new mandates associated with the Affordable Care Act.For more please read the Sept. 18 print version of the Herald.
